RHB Bank Bhd chairman Tan Sri Azlan Zainol (pic) is an experienced and seasoned banker who has spent more than three decades of his life in the banking industry. Azlan is also the CEO of sovereign pension fund, the Employees Provident Fund or EPF, which owns strategic stakes in several leading financial institutions in the country including RHB Capital Bhd (RHB Cap) in which it is the major shareholder.
He shares with StarBizWeek's John Loh and Cecilia Kok some of his thoughts on the RHB Banking group, as it commemorates its 100-year anniversary this year as well as his general take on the banking industry in Malaysia. Below are excerpts of the interview.
